My Foolproof Secret to Juicy Burgers!

Want juicy burgers with lean, grass fed beef!?

juicy burgers

Well, here is my secret ingredient for flavorful, juicy burgers (without using meat with a high fat content) every time!

Coconut milk!

(No, your burgers won’t taste like coconut!)

Everyone thinks I am crazy for making my burgers out of organic grass fed beef because of it’s low fat content.  (Low fat generally equals dry and less tasty burgers)

Dry, mealy burgers are now a thing of the past! All you need is a few tablespoons of coconut milk (NOT coconut cream or coconut oil!).

Coconut milk adds the fat you need to keep the burgers juicy, but this is the healthy type of fat! Not the type that will clog your arteries!

I love to add ingredients to my handcrafted, organic (and now juicy) burgers like diced onions, peppers, celery, and/or mushrooms. Or spices/herbs like cumin, garlic, cayenne, parsley, cilantro, basil, adobo, or even steak seasoning!

I also on occasion will stuff my burgers with goat cheese, which is AMAZING! If you are not a fan of goat cheese, you could also use blue cheese, feta, Gouda, or any other cheese you love.  Crumbly cheeses tend to work best though because there is less of a chance that they will ooze out.

Do you use Young Living essential oils? Try cooking with them! Add a drop of your favorite Young Living Vitality Line oils like black pepper, celery seed, oregano, basil, rosemary or thyme to your burger mix for enhanced flavor and health benefits!

Don’t forget to put a thumb print in your burger to keep it from plumping up too much (it keeps it flat and cooks evenly).

Toss those buns on the grill right before the burgers are done. I guarantee you will never go without a toasted bun again!

Want a gluten free option? Use lettuce to wrap your juicy burger instead of a bun.  I love the crunch it adds and it is low carb!

For a Thai twist on your burger, make a sauce with the leftover coconut milk! Add 2-3 Tbsp of green or red Thai curry paste and simmer until thick. Use instead of traditional condiments!

“Beyond the Premium Starter Kit” Series

I decided to do this “series” called Beyond the Premium Starter Kit because I myself was not sure what I wanted to try next once I was ready to venture out and try a few oils that did not come in the Premium Starter Kit from Young Living.

Basically, I am going to pick my 10 favorite oils (I have tried) that are not in the Premium Starter Kit and do a post about each one.

These will not be in any specific order because even narrowing it down to  just 10 was hard enough! I will tell you a little about each oil, suggested uses, what I use them for, and why! I will do a post on each oil and hopefully it will help those of you who are looking to explore new oils, but not sure where to go next!

My first favorite oil “Beyond the Premium Starter Kit” is Northern Lights Black Spruce.

For more information, click here.

Premium Starter Kit

My favorite way to utilize Northern Lights Black Spruce is to diffuse it in my Aria diffuser and sit by the fire with a cup of tea and a good book.  The scent is so relaxing and creates an amazing atmosphere when combined with the soothing scents and  sounds of a fire.

Northern Lights Black Spruce can also be utilized as an affordable, chemical-free “cologne” when combined with Young Living’s V6 oil or fractionated coconut oil in a dark glass roller bottle with a metal ball.

Premium Starter Kit

It’s my guy’s new favorite scent! He is not one to wear cologne, but he rolls this on his neck daily and even carries it around in his pocket! I love the way it smells on him and he loves the rich, woodsy aroma! Win, win!

I would love to hear what you think of this oil and definitely give it a try if you haven’t already!

Why You Can Trust Young Living

All essential oils are not created equal!

In short, the answer is YES, you can trust Young Living and the products they produce because of their Seed to Seal promise!

The FDA does not have strict regulations on essential oils. Therefore, many companies take short cuts and adulterate their oils to make a better profit, yet are still able to call their oils “therapeutic grade” or “100% pure”!

Warning: If an essential oil label says “do not take internally” or “not for internal use” that is a red flag right there! If the oil is 100% pure and therapeutic grade, you should be able to take it internally since it is simply the distilled oil from a plant (root, flower, bark, stem, leaf, bud, etc).

If you are skeptical about Young Living or essential oils in general, I suggest you do your own research and not just listen to what one article or a friend says.  Get out there and learn! The internet is full of rumors and slandering of everyone and every company, especially successful ones, so be sure to do thorough research.

Young Living

Before I began using Young Living exclusively I:

  • Did my own research (months worth)

  • Tried and compared a few different popular and supposedly high quality brands

  • Talked to friends who were already using essential oils

  • Read various blogs specific to essential oils

I recently read a very concise and informative article that inspired me to write this mini blog post.  If you would like to know why Young Living is the best without having to read pages and pages of blabber, check out this article! I would love to hear your thoughts too 🙂  [email protected]
Happy oiling to those of you who are “oilers”.  For those of you who haven’t yet embarked on your oil journey and are interested, I am here to help and would love to get you started!
